Merpati
Putih is the royal inheritance of the Kings and Heirs of the Mataram
Kingdon in Central Java, Indonesia. It is a complete system of Fitness,
Breathwork, Meditation, Energy Development, Personal Empowerment and
Combative Martial Arts (Indonesian martial arts are known as Pencak
Silat) that was released to the Indonesian public in 1963, but was closed to Americans until 1999. MP USA, Inc. is the ONLY licensed and accredited academy of
Merpati Putih in the Western Hemisphere and Nate and Mike Zeleznick have
been hand-picked and trained by the Royal Heirs and Master Teachers of
the system personally in order to bring this amazing art to America in
its purest form.
How did Merpati Putih Make it to America?
In 1998 Nate Zeleznick contacted Yayasan Saring Hadipoernomo (The Saring Hadipoernomo Foundation) in order to co-sponsor the first-ever public demonstration of Merpati Putih in America. After demonstrations at The Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind, Weber State University and the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C. Nate and his brother Mike were given permission by Poerwoto Hadipoernomo (known as Mas Pung) and Budi Santoso Hadipoernomo (known as Mas Budi) (the 11th Generation Heirs of the MP lineage) to train in the MP Energy Arts, with training provided by Dr. Heru Hendarto M.D., MSSLP, a former trainer to the Indonesian Commando Paratroopers (Kopassus) who just happened to live nearby in Salt Lake City pursuing his post-Doctoral Master''s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
After an accelerated and brutal training regimen, Nate and Mike were joined in Utah by Mas Pung, Mas Budi and a team of MP specialists for evaluation of the art in America, but also to test, inaugurate and certify Nate and Mike as the very first American MP trainers so that they could open MP USA and begin spreading MP to the people in America who need it.
What is the lineage of the Merpati Putih system? The energy aspects of Merpati Putih were developed by Sultan Prabu Amangkurat of the Mataram II dynasty and most of the martial art was developed by his granddaughter Nyi Ageneg Djojo Rejoso over 400 years ago.
